FCRA PROJECT: INTERNATIONAL UNION FOR CONSERVATION OF NATURE SMALL GRANTS FOR PURCHASE OF NATURE

The
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) National Committee of the
Netherlands is inviting small grants pre-proposals from local NGOs for the
purchase of nature. The main purpose of the project is to contribute to
conservation of biodiversity by supporting the strategic acquisition through
purchase or lease – of threatened nature, and placing the ownership or
management rights in the hands of local nature conservation NGOs.
Priority is given to the use of available local expertise and legal advisors. Maximum grant size is Euro 85,000.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be local NGOs anywhere in the world.
- Applicants must have proven capacity to implement land acquisition projects.
- Applicants must have experience and capacity concerning the management of a conservation area.
- Applicants must have experience and sufficient capacity in the field of project management, and financial management and control.
- Applicants must have local expertise.
- Proposed projects must take place in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific.
